After the enormous success of the Women’s March in 2017, there was considerable attempts at destroying the movement once it looked like the women were united to do more work than just serve as organizers for Democrats. When it appeared like many core activists were in favor of connecting Palestinian freedom with Black liberation, organizers were falsely accused of being antisemites by rightwingers, and some liberals alike. This destroyed the movement from within and participation subsequently reduced over the years.

On 2023 January 22, a limited agenda (over reproductive justice) was used to sustain the March by the Black Feminists and allies. It was timely because it coincided with 50th Anniversary of Roe.
